I Would say that the history of Derivan First began around 1776. The United States of America had been formed and succeded in removing British power from the former colonies. Quick to make good on its expansionist need it moved west. However bitter struggles began as the slave owners of the south secceded from the north. After the Confederates over ran the Federalists at Antietam and sacked Washington D.C. the two split for good. For the next 100 years the two would live in a coexistance held together by a thread.
